Davidson’s Mains and District Pipe Band… was formed by Pipe Major Clare Miller in 2010 and was one of the first new independent Edinburgh bands for pupils at local authority schools. 2016 saw the ‘senior band’ with 25 members aged between 10 and 17, entering the adult grading as a Grade 4b band. Young Roses Choir competing in “Die Große Chance der Chöre” – “The Big Opportunity for Choirs”. This is very emotional, not least for the panel, with the Young Roses Choir singing a song in the semi-finals dedicated to a girl (Mädchen is the word used) of around the same age tragically killed in a car accident.
